Stressful, stressful week
The week started off simply. Nothing unusual. Nothing odd about anything. Then.....
DUN-DUN-DUNNNNN :)
I got a crazy call from hubs on Tues afternoon that he had a terrible pain behind his eye, he passed out, and woke up 2 hours later on the floor. So I rush home, laughed at him because he did his hair while dressing for the hospital (he said he looked shitty haha), then sat with him at the hospital for about 4 hours. They could not find a thing. He's okay now but its just like WTF made him pass out and stay out for so long?!
Then yesterday I had fun sitting in the Courthouse to contest my traffic ticket. I get to go back on May 14th. Joy :\
Is it sad I'm actually HAPPY to be back at work?! Lol!
I got quite a few batches of soap made yesterday after court. My friend is having a baby very soon so I mixed up a castile soap, no scent and no color, and a chamomile castile as well. I'll work on some liquid for her later she can use as baby shampoo. I also made a cocoa-goat milk soap that looks yummy, and tried a coconut milk soap that will need to be fixed when I get home. So far the soap thing has been going fantastic so I gotta turn myself into a machine and pump out some more scents!

Spring and snails
I'm a winter girl. Not thigh deep snow, frozen icicles from your nose kind of winter. Southern California winter...
I was planting my garden the other day and realized as the hummingbirds were zipping around above, that its spring! K, I'm slow sometimes :) This year, I am actually happy my Socal winter is over. Its the first time I have a space to have a garden and I am so excited to see what I can grow!
The bunnies ate the first attempt: knawed down my tomatoes, my habaneros and my bell peppers. Oddly enough, they avoided my cilantro. I have replanted everything and my first batch of cilantro is still going strong. I even planted giant pumpkins. I doubt I'll grow a 500lb blue ribbon winner but a 40 or 50lb one would suffice!
I am trying to grow my veggies as organically as possible -- using natural repellants for the bugs and the bunnies. A lightbulb clicked with a little article hubby mentioned: You can eat garden snails. Wait, what? Apparently the common garden snail is actually a variety brought to the US by a chef planning to breed them for consumption. A failed business plan and a lot of baby snails later, the snails cover the US and can be found in pretty much any yard. Bad for my garden, but possibly good for our tummies. After crawling around and collecting approx. 30 snails, they're living comfortably in my garage, munching on lettuce and cornmeal to clean their systems so we can much on them! In about a week, I'll cook them up in some lemon and butter and serve them to hubby and my best friend who is staying with us for a while. This will either be delicious, or disasterous. I'll keep you updated :)

Last night I did the one thing I said I would never do...
I rear ended someone :(
I was rear ended about 3 years ago and have suffered back issues since, so I hoped and prayed that I would never do that to someone else. Last night on my way home from work, traffic was slow but my lane was moving. The guy in front of me stopped suddenly but when I hit my brakes, my car kept going. I can still see my hood crumple but then I don't remember the next few seconds -- the airbag deployed and knocked me out for a second. The only GOOD thing: my little mazda 3 hit a big nissan frontier pickup truck and he didn't have a scratch on him. My car however: totalled.
The guy was so sweet and understanding. He kept asking if I was okay and we kind of had to joke about the whole thing because I think he knew I wanted to cry. My poor baby only lived about 2 1/2 years..and I think hubs is a little scared I have to drive his car (nissan 350z he's suped up like crazy) haha. But I drive his car like a grandma because its so loud so nothing to worry about :)
I'm definitely sore but mostly sad about the whole thing. I kinda freaked out my dad when I called him but he's glad I'm okay. I'm sure its not easy to get a phone call from your daughter on a Friday night saying she's been in an accident and you're 600 miles away and cant do anything.
Anyways, I'm going to take it easy the rest of today but tomorrow I've got to do some major last minute christmas shopping. And it just so happens that the thing I want from hubs (nice thick sweater or jacket since I always freeze), is at one of the busiest stores ever..even when its not a holiday. So we'll see how that goes..
